About Abrave

We would like to start by welcoming you to Abrave. The Abrave Search Engine has not been officially launched yet and therefore by reading this you can be assured that you are one of the few people in the world that has seen this pre-launch preview of the Abrave Search Engine.

The Abrave Search Engine is a brave new way of looking at internet searching. The Abrave search engine is powered by the abrave spider, a robot/search spider/web crawler program. All of the software requirements for the search engine and abrave spider were designed in-house by Gallent Limited.

The abrave spider makes strategic decisions when it crawls the web in a way unlike any other robot. Live decisions are made about what the content of the page is and whether it is suitable to save or to search other pages from that site. Real-Time Point Rank 101™ calculations (An in-house developed ranking system) are made during this process and the instant the web-page is saved that web-page will appear under relevant searches on the abrave search engine in Point Rank 101™ order making this a world first in this type of search development. In addition, if the web-page is considered to be highly relevant, by the abrave spider, then it will also instantly and automatically appear in the abrave directory accessible from the abrave home page (The Abrave Directory contains many thousands of categories and of those we have currently implemented direct links to around five hundred categories). This has resulted in a search engine and website that is usually and certainly has the ability to be updated several times every second.

Real-Time Search Updates

Because Abrave benefits from live updates, on rare occasions you may even see a phenomenon that after you have top opened a search result listing that this is replaced by a different listing when you click the back button on your browsers. This is caused by a live update change to that listings Point Rank 101™ score and although it is very rare to see this in practice, it certainly has been spotted by our team during testing and of course the technology of Abrave has to be able to manage these types of live changes for everyone that is currently on the website. So how do we achieve this? Well, one of the ways we do this is by not caching any search results. The results for every search are always compiled at the moment the search is performed and are tracked on each page to ensure that the Point Rank 101™ score is still accurate. This ensures that we provide you with real-time performance. Abrave is growing all the time and therefore if the search engine does not find exactly what you are searching for this time then it almost certainly will next time thanks to the live updating and ranking system adopted by the Abrave Search Engine.

Abrave for Business

The current beta release was designed to index only UK domain names and this has enabled us to make minor tweaks to our robot and algorithm to improve the quality of the results ensuring that the technology has the ability to successfully index and Point Rank any amount of the internet. All of this technology, unlike other search engines, is not spread over tens or hundreds of thousands of servers, it is currently housed on just one server located in the Netherlands for demonstration purposes and that server has just 512MB of RAM meaning that the performance would be even better on a server located in the UK with greater memory capacity. However, even within these current limitations the abrave spiders are still able to index multiple websites simultaneously. Websites are continuously being added to the Abrave Search Engine. With this new low resource, search engine technology it makes it conceivable that every corporation in the world would have the potential to operate their own customised search engine solution while also generating revenue through the introduction of sponsored listings. If Abrave decides to offer this service to the world it would create an enormous choice of search engine provider that is currently unavailable.

Abrave Improvements

We are making continuous upgrades to our search product to offer daily improvements to the search engine. For example, we have recently implemented a confidence scale where we openly display at the top of each internet search how confident we are that the results we are showing on the first page will fulfil exactly what you are searching for. The confidence scale is as follows:

= 'Low' confidence.
= 'Medium' confidence.
= 'High' confidence.

Even with a 'Medium' confidence scale, for the majority of times the results shown will still be what you are searching for and often with a 'Low' confidence scale rating too. We have all performed a search on a search engine and visited sites only to find out that they are in fact nothing to do with what we expected to find and therefore by implementing this scale you are able to determine at a glance the likelihood of your search producing the exact information you require. What Next for Abrave?

We are still adding an enormous amount of new sites to Abrave daily whilst continuously re-indexing existing ones. We are currently planning our press release for the Abrave Search Engine. We are also currently building the Professor. The Abrave Professor is a system full of answers to millions of questions and is powered by a variation of the Abrave Spider, unlike the current Abrave Search Engine, the answers will not be limited to UK specific information. Effectively the Professor is an AI application but it goes a step further than that. The Abrave Professor is learning by reading the internet and sometimes, just like people, the Professor may read an incorrect fact or misinterpret a fact. What the Abrave Professor can do though is to increase knowledge faster than any person has the ability to do and as the knowledge of the Professor grows so to will the accuracy of the answers that the Professor is able to provide. We currently have an Alpha release of the Abrave Professor and we will be launching a Beta release soon for testing purposes on abrave.co.uk and on abrave.com (Global Discussion) site also owned by Gallent Limited. Gallent Limited also plan to create a directory where the Abrave Spider will automatically detect the location of the service provider thus enabling a local search for directory entries like 'restaurants', 'taxis' etc. The results will then be displayed in Abrave's Point Rank 101™ order.
